Contact the athletic director’s office where the match took place and then inform your tennis assignor.

You should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the match.

Familiarize yourself with NJSIAA tennis rules that can be found at www.njsiaa.org. Print a copy of the rules and carry them in your tennis bag. You might have to refer to them or show them to the coaches who may not be familiar with a specific rule.

Be sure to bring a stopwatch, measuring tape, flipping coin, paper and pen, Friend at Court, NJSIAA rules, plastic zip ties, a water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, a healthy snack, and your cell phone (turned to vibrate)

Introduce yourself to both coaches, check challenge match sheets, check that all players on both teams are in uniform, and check net height. Address the teams at lineup and flip a coin on each court prior to the start of the match.

Inform the coach of the home team to adjust the nets using the crank. You can use zip ties as needed to temporarily fix large holes.

Best Practice at the net post, other positions at fence between courts, or in corner. Never walk while point is in progress, stand still if point has started.
