The New Jersey High School Tennis Officials’ Association (NJHSTOA) provides tennis officials for the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA). The purpose of the organization is to promote the welfare of high school tennis by training officials who will uniformly interpret and administer the rules of the game. Potential officials must be at least 18 years old.
Cost: $90 – new officials
Fee includes NJHSTOA dues for the first year, official shirt, tennis rules book, flipping coin, and training materials. Once you complete the course, there will be an additional fee of $60 paid online to NJSIAA, for yearly state certification and background check. www.njsiaa.org
NOTE: After completion of first year, NJHSTOA annual chapter fee is $50.
After you complete the training and receive state certification, your name will appear on an officials list provided to the assignors and athletic directors throughout the state. Some dual matches use tennis officials; tennis officials are required at most county and invitational tournaments. NJSIAA officials are mandatory for all rounds of the New Jersey state team tournament and individual singles and doubles tournaments.
